To waken to the sound of doves,
Gentle cooing beyond open doors.
Sun’s light dispels dark hours,
Its warmth proclaiming new day.
Cool trade winds in quick reply,
Salt fused upon soft flutter of wings.
Flowers stir casting sweet perfume adrift,
Dampened earth from gentle night rain mingles.
A distant rumble, a distant roar,
A salty mist cast from the deep blue.
Waves crash, tumble and tear,
Eternal rhythm resolute in its beat … beat … beat.
Fire flames within its belly,
Ice freezes upon its mighty crown.
The ancient land seduces,
Its song a concert strong, everlasting.
It beckons …
It possesses …
Denial forsaken.
