Q: What is the working title of your next book?

A: With Dragons She Walks

Q: What is the time period and setting for the book?

A: It starts in Northumbria, 892 A.D., but readers are swept along with the characters on an epic adventure through other exotic locales like Scandinavia, Russia and Constantinople.

Q: Where did the idea come from for the book?

A: It originated based on a single scene envisioned in D’s mind, but quickly morphed into its own very unique plot. Here’s the back story on how the title was found.

There is also a poem that sums up the basic premise of the book.

Q: What genre does your new book fall under?

A: Historical fiction with romance and a strong fantasy element. Historical fiction romance fantasy? Is there such a hybrid animal? Or rearrange the four words to suit your preference. Something along those lines. This one really is a cross-over book.

Q: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

A: D votes for Gerard Butler as Drake (the hero). B had to look up who that is. D is the movie buff, so she will need to pick the heroine, too!  Stay tuned…

Q: What is a one-sentence synopsis of your book?

A: “Dragons gave her strength and will; the man who held her heart gave her love and purpose; together they gave her insurmountable courage in the face of danger.”

Q: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

A: That’s a hard question to answer since there are two writers working as one. The usual process is D starts the ball rolling by writing the first draft, getting the action going, and B takes it over then to add authentic historical minutia about everything from a to z. Repeat process umpteen times.

Q: Who or what inspired you to write this book?

A: Two of our favorite things…Dragons and Vikings.

Q: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

A: Brit Darby blends real historical events and people into the plot. A lot of research is done to ensure the books reflect the atmosphere, feel and emotion of that time period. Historical events also provide inspiration to weave fictional characters into fresh, exciting plots.

Q: When and where can readers get the book?

A: Coming soon on Amazon.
